About Our Board

President - Kecia D. Reid

Hi everyone… a bit about me:

My name is Kecia D. Reid and I am the Founder and Executive Director of Gate Beautiful Women’s Resource Center.

I had have a desire to help single women who are pregnant since I found myself in that same position. I was in college and chose abortion.

It was an impulsive and rash decision that went against my upbringing and my personal conviction. For years I grieved the child I never had but decided that the reasons for my decision was largely based on fear of raising a child without a spouse and disappointing my parents. I will share my full story at a later date.

My background, of over 20 years, in Human Services is vast. I have been involved with training college students in graphic design and business operations; teaching classes for underrepresented scholars, programming and sponsoring youth in church and in the community, assisting children and their families in crisis through my local Family and Community Services and am currently working with children with autism and intellectual developmental delays.

She has worked in mental health for over 10 years, as a Maternity Nurse, as a Rehab Nurse, and Geriatric Nursing.  Miss Evelyn  as she is known currently is retired from active nursing, however continues to work as needed in the church and now for Gate Beautiful.

Terri Featherston - Treasurer

"It takes a village..."

My love for helping people begin early in life period I watched my parents taking family members and assisted with the raising of a few of my cousins. it was not unusual to have a friend or 2 over for dinner at any given point. " everyone eats until there is no more to eat " a motto coined by my mother.

Over the past 20+yrs I have dedicated myself to learning, researching, recruiting, creating, developing, designing, improving, implementing, directing, coordinating and establishing programs, policies and procedures and activities and events to promote a safe and positive environment for all ages and backgrounds including those with social, financial and medical needs.

As part of the Gate Beautiful compassionate support team, I look forward to helping encourage women and their children to have a rewarding and successful life!
